![]() Sustainability Plan The Municipal Sustainability Plan (MSP) or Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) required by the federal and provincial governments of municipalities in the New Deal for Communities and Cities (NDCC) agreement requires municipalities to demonstrate that they have planned for the long term future of the municipality in a responsible way. It is intended to be an overarching framework that inspires and informs and incorporates other municipal planning processes with the goal of balancing all of the pillars of sustainability (Economy, Governance, Environment, Social and Culture) for the long term health and survival of the community. The Brundtland Commission defined sustainability in 1987 as "...living in a way that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." |
